Life Changing Christian Academy

"Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it." -- Proverbs 22:6

Monday, August 18th, we followed Lake County's decision to close school as is our policy.  We couldn't have known anymore than they did that we would spend Tuesday and Wednesday in relative calm.  Since we did not know what the future held we felt that it was the responsible thing to do.
Life Changing Christian Academy's School Board has decided to remain open for school this Friday, August 22 because we now know what Faye is doing and the level of danger that she poses.  It is very likely that Thursday was the greatest amount of wind and rain that the Mt. Dora area is likely to endure although we can still expect a great deal of rain and some wind on Friday.
We are asking parents to use their own sense of discretion and caution to decide if their particular area is free of water and debris so that safe travel to school is possible.  Parents who choose to keep their students home will not be penalized and students will not be considered behind.
Please understand that we are trying to make the best of a difficult situation since issues with the county zoning board made it necessary to start our year a week later and now we have an additional two days that must be filled in somewhere.  However, the safety of our students and families comes first so please use extreme caution and check that conditions in your area have not worsened before you venture away from home.
Thank-you for your careful consideration.

We are very excited about our new ball field!  It's been great fun to watch the progress.
